    Question of the Week

How do you define the word " love " ?

Love is an emotion that cannot be seen but only shown and cannot be described. There are no words that can describe it.
    §un§hine

um that last comment i added was supposed to be under "what would you be if you could be anything" i dont know how it ended up over here

i would be a bird so that i could fly away, and nothing would seem that important, so that i would want to live, so that i wouldnt need anyone, and so that i could only be hurt physically.
    angel dust

love is when someone tells you that they did something terible to you and your bestfriend but you still stay with them and care about them. love is when someone hurts you so bad that you want to die and the only reason you dont is because it might hurt that person. love is when you never change in the good way you feel about someone. love is when you put that person ahead of everything else even when it destroys your life and you know they will leave you in the end with nothing. love sucks

Love has many definitions. The one I choose is; Love is when you put someones wants and needs ahead of yours.

Love sometimes mean to just let go.

Love sometimes mean to just let go.

Love is a verb. Look it up. Love is the byproduct of a commitment. You are commited to someone, you show how much that person means to you. That is love. One of the many definitions in my dictionary says.. "to delight in" and I find that very much the case. It is "to delight in" doing something for someone. It is "to delight in" sacrifice knowing that even if they never know, you will know of the sacrifice you made. It is "to delight in" their presence, "to delight in" their absense knowing you shall see them. Love is giving without the thought, or expectation of receiving!
    almost an R.N.

Love is a commitment. IT IS NOT AN EMOTION!!! However far fetched that may seem, it's true. Love may start from an emotion, but in truth it all turns out to be commitment. How much love does it take to get someone pregnant and then to not drop them the moment you find out? How much love does it take to marry someone then not divorce them? A lot. And tell me, isn't that a commitment? When someone is married do not the commit their life to them? They promise, to love, honor, cherish as long as they both shall live to death do them part. The promise!!! True commitment in itself sparks love, and if you truly love someone commitment is a given.

Although it can't be defined,Love is the best feeling that anyone can embrace. It is what brings people closer together. Love is in unity and tolerance. Love is the basis of all relationships. My Love for others and people's Love for me is what keeps me going in life.

def. #1 *love's a contradiction. it's hard 2 find, but easy to loose. makes you happy, but hurts you so bad. opens your eyes, but makes you blind. fills up your heart, but tears it apart. def. #2 *love's hard to define... but the second that you're willing to make someone happy... that's love right there!!!

Love is when you hear those mushy loves songs that used to make you gag and they make you listen to them and feel all mushy

love is when you don't feel the need to explain, no need to pretend. love is when you close your eyes, close your heart and mind and do things you never thought you would do with a rational mind
    qiche_moi

Love is a whole lot of mixed emotions all jumbled into one totally undescribeable feeling. You can think only about that person every day and night, they are always on your mind. They are the first thing you think of when you wake up in the morning and the last thing you think of when you go to bed at night. There are also unpleasant sides to love, which come about from the feelings of helplessness and vulnerability, but you forget all about them every time something good happens with the person you love. Love is trust, respect, faithfulness, devotion, and passion. It's the greatest feeling in the world. Nothing else can compare.

you cant define the word love. its impossible. you can try all you want;until ur all stressed out and angry; but then you miss the whole meaning,so why not just leave it alone as the beautiful thing it is?dont try to understand it.because you wont succeed in doing so.all i can say about love.....youll know wen ur experiencing it.
    esther

I define Love as a symbol between two creatures. Love is something treasured no matter what. Love is not just any old feeling.. it's the world.. Love is there between Ememy's and lovers, no matter how much they hate each other, or how much they care. love is like a flower, you need to care and tend to it.. That's what i think love is.. My own opinion.. Thank you for reading.
    *Shannon*

i think love is a feeling of attraction to a certain person and it cant be described any better.
    bella tolmatsky

love means that you will do anything for the person and that they will do anyhting for you and you will sacrifice anything for them, and them you. so when a boy or a girl is like over protective or abusive they do not love the other person or else they would protect the other person. and would not let anyone, or anything hurt them. so when people abuse other people and say that they love them they do not because they would'nt be doing what they were doing.
    rainbow_wings

Love is... ...being able to be yourself without worrying about being judged or criticized. ...being happy when you're around the person, and missing them SO much it hurts when you are not. ...knowing that they will still accept and love you even if you make a few tiny mistakes. ...like the quote says, "Love is when all your saved up wishes start coming out."
    *sweety pie*

Love is risking everything you have ever known for a small glimpse of heaven. It is a feeling of intense pleasure and pain all at once. It is a yearning from deep within your soul for another person's soul. It is the notion that you have found meaning in your life. It is knowing that this is it. It is knowing that you can never go back but that you really don't want to. It is the smile upon your face at just the thought of it. It is the nights of endless tears and anguish. It is the border between blinding light and overwhelming darkness, it is a rainbow of untapped feelings. It is.
    Zoya

There is really no way to descibe love and still someone knows if they are experiencing it. When you experience true love its the most powerful feeling in the world. Your heart races faster than ever before, your eyes can't help but look at them and glisten with joy. You are so excited and have to tell everyone you know when the person you love talks to you for the first time. You go totally out of your way to see them walk by even if its just for a second. That second, when you are in love, can make your entire day that much better. You know that even if this person is in your life for just a split second, they have made a difference. You know that you will never be the same because in some mysterious way, they mean the world to you and you will never forget them. That's how you know its love.
    Nicole

Honestly, I don't know. If you're talking about love between two people, husband and wife, that type, then I guess I'll never really, truly know what it is until I've experienced it. I'd like to think Love is something like the way L, Regan, and Maureen described it. From what i observe, love takes mutual respect and trust...faith, affection, support, those sort of things. I don't think that love is when you have to be with that person all the time. I can't imagine spending a majority of my time with one person, no matter how much I loved them and enjoyed their company, lovers need time apart, time alone. I mean, EVERYone needs time alone, right? I think that real love is probably purely truthful, real lovers are completely honest with each other, and help each other to grow.....i think love must have laughter and conversation. I don't mean talking TO each other, I mean talking WITH each other. I think maybe Monica describes Love well in the song "Angel of Mine"....I think I've typed enough.
    Casey

Love is the way I knew I felt when I saw Ryan with his new girlfriend and felt like my heart was being ripped out of me.
    Ansylee, formerly cassie

Love is being able to give part of yourself to someone else. We are human and when we are in love, we want to lose and loving is sometimes losing part of yourself. It's a wonderful thing. Simple concept.
    Katie

Love is a logical phenomenon. It is inexplicable, yet it remains reasonable.
    Maureen

I think love is when you can't imagine not being with someone. When you would do anything for another person or thing. When you would give up your own life to help that person or whatever it is.
    Regan

I don't think love is really something you can describe, it's just a feeling of absolute trust and respect for the other person. And knowing that you would do everything in your power to protect them from any harm. I think the person you love should be your best friend, someone that you can talk to about anything and everything, someone that you can have a good laugh with, and someone that you're not afraid to cry in front of. Ultimately, I think love is the knowledge that you can be completely yourself in front of the person that you love, and they will accept it and appreciate it.
    L

Love is the feeling of complete vulnerability to one special person. Love is looking into someone's eyes and with out saying a word, knowing their exact thoughts. Having so much trust in someone that you'd let them lead you blind folded into an unfamiliar place, because you just know that they'll never harm you. Love is repecting someone's beliefs and opinions so much that you'd sacarfice yours to let them speak their mind. Love is calling someone at three o'clock in the morning because you can't go another second without hearing their voice. Love is driving 6 hours in hurricane weather b/cuz you'll die if you don't see their face. Love is Love.....Love is Great!!!
    Amanda

Love is very much like gravity. It exercises force on an object and either draws itself or the object closer and closer together. Love is the most meaningful relationship 2 human beings can have.
    Spiritu

    The noun or the verb?
    Zoya

Love is a hard word to define, because i think that it's different for a lot of people. For me, love is complete and total dedication, it's putting the other person before you without even a second thought about your needs or wants. It's getting out of bed in the morning and going through your day even though you don't want to at all just because you know that at the end of it they'll be there. It's when a single kiss-no matter how long you've been with the person-can make your heart beat faster and your knees turn to jello....it's that and so much more that I could ever put into words.
    *Diva*

I have learned not to define love. I know what I WANT, but I'm done disecting the stupid feeling itself. You can hash it until you are blue in the face and depressed, and then you've missed the whole meaning: That it is a wonderful thing that you exerience and DO, not something you disect.
