What type of guidelines should be used for the Diary Entries on this site?
|
dude, we're just going to find ways around any guidlines people set...i'm not being smart, it's true. thats kids and teenagers jobs, you know-finding ways around the rules. mangotango
Why can't we just use common sense? No sexually explicit entries, none that directly offend other people. Those are the only things I can thknk of, I think the rest of it should be allowed. Get rid of the censor-bot. If we want to use "bad" words, we will find a way to do it, you know. They are just words, you should be more worried about the *context* in which they are used, because that's what offends. Casey
Strict Guidlines! If we let the rules waver for a second, everyone will want to be a nazi. We'll be up to our navels in nazi's and the only way to get them back in line is to beat them with the nazi whip. Yes, if we don't have strict guidlines, we'll have to bring out the nazi whip and things will get ugly. and we don't want that, do we? Bad Adviceman
There should be limits such as no extreme profanity, but you should still be allowed to talk about sex because often it needs to be talked about. Religion should be talked about freely, and also growing upi stuff such as puberty, periods, etc. I think that mainly the diary project should be a free-speaking site, say what you feel like saying! jess
There shouldn't be many guide lines, just nothing to do with profanity. I think you should be allowed to talk about puberty, breasts and periods because some people need help and others can provide help. I think that there shouldn't be allowed any profanity. People can talk about sex, but not in a steamy way, like "I put my hands over her silky breasts.." because that is just disgusting. Maybe not for some people but there are 7 year old children on this site ya know! Well, and now racist comments, or religous comments. *Allie*
People should be allowed to say whatever they want as long as it doesn't offend anyone's racial background. Everything else is open to critizism. If I am on drugs, shouldn't I be able to write about getting high even if people don't approve? Religion is a tender subject but questioning beliefs gets people thinking about what they preach. Just try not to insult one's feelings just try and get them thinking about the way they feel. Katie
I think that the only guidelines here should be that people that post here shoul not be allowd to put anyone down in anyway for what someone else posts. I see a lot of that here. This is a place where a lot of people go to express themselves in many ways so therefore I don't think that there should be any other guidelines because that would be restricting the way that people express themselves. Just no put downs to other people that post here *Diva*
